Shout-Outs, Kinda...

Hiya guys!

Tinzie here, writing a post on a peaceful Friday evening.
I just wanted to make a 'lil shout-out for completely random reasons!
So here goes, the first one is to my B.F.E.F.E (Best Friend Ever For Ever) Victoria, for being so completely awesome! =D
The next one is for sport reasons. You see, last year, I was a WOOSY with anything to do with sports! I used to hate ALL sports, especially Soccer! But thanks to those particular boys in my class who play Soccer, it is my FAVOURITE sport EVER now! :D
Cricket & T-Ball are tied for second (THEY RULE) but Soccer is the best!
I like Basketball aswell but that's beside the point! :)

I also got into the Enrichment class for Intermediate next year! :)
It's for the "INTELECTUAL" people!
Only two people from our class took the test (Keegan & I) & we both got in!
That just shows how AWESOME our class is! =D

We just came back from camp and im excited.
We had to get up at 8.00 to have breakfast and at 8.30 we started the activities.
Our activities were archery and confidence course. They were really fun.

Hi I am Quinn and our class just went on camp and we went for two nights and tree days on te first day we played games like artery and bush walks and stuff then later we went absaling and on the hidroslid. The next day was fun too we walked to apple tree bay and back that was fun because we got to talk to each other the next we went kiacing and then we headed off.

Bathany camp 2009

We are off to Apple Tree Bay! It takes ages to get there. When we are walking Im at the back of

the line! I hate being at the end of the line. We finally get there. Its sooooooo hot I really want to go swimming but its to cold! I finally get in after fifteen minutes. All the other kids have got in after two seconds! But they just jump in.

about a week ago wour class went on camp.The camp was at a place called Bethany park camp,
We went kayaking,abseiling,walking and we also went to a place called Apple tree bay, it had a lagoon wich we spent most of our time in.

Camp

Recently Room7 went to camp it was so fun we went abseiling down a 15 metre cliff and waterslide, spotlight and much more. I cant wait for another one next year hope it will be fun. This is me abseiling it was scary and cool.

Room 7 went on camp and we all had a lot of fun!The things we did there were awesome! We stayed there for three days and two nights.We went on the water slide abseiling and even kayaking also we spent a lot of time at the beaches that were around. Once we went on a LONG walk to Apple Tree Bay that was fun but very tiring! This is me abseiling!

We we on camp on the 17th of November and it was really fun! We went to Kaiteriteri and stayed at Bethany Camp. We went kayaking, abseiling, to apple tree bay and lots of other cool things. For the first night we had mashed potato, sauseges and veges. The second night we had fish, baked potato and veges. We went down the waterslide and played spotlight on the last night. The photo above is of me and Jay on the car in the playground. We did archery aswell but I dont think anyone got bullseye. When we went abseiling it was scary buy fun at the same time, it was 15 metres high!! SCARY!

Camp

Last week we went camping at bethany camp in Kaiteriitri. We went aseiling at breaker bay,kayaking at little kitiri,swiming,went to apple tree bay by foot and went for a swim in the lagoonand went on the the waterslide at bethany.We got an ice cream on the way back and went for a swim in the source of Riwakawhich is FREEZING .

Room7 camp

It was ok on camp. The thing I liked was abseiling because you got to climb stuff. At night time Kyle m and sam and isaac and me were talking nearly all night then rick came in and took kyle m and his pringles. This is a forest from somewhere but i think near the river.

Recently our class went on camp. It was awesome! One of the activities we did was abseiling! Here's a picture of me. We had to abseil down a height of 15 meters! I wasn't scared either. Some kids took about a minute or 2 were as some took 15 seconds!
We also did kayaking a few bays around from were we went abseiling. That was really fun because when we finished kayaking we built a reservoir at the end of a small stream and tried to build a sea wall to keep the sea out. One day we went on a 3 hour walk around Able Tasman were I found a sand hopper which was about an inch long! I called him Mr snoodles. Midway along the track on the way back he bungi jumped off a bridge without a bungi cord! At the actual camp grounds there was a water slide. It was extremely long! Even Rick had a go. One last word; CAMP WAS AWESOME!

Room7 Camp-FUN!

Our camp was so cool. It was my first Totara camp so it was really exciting. We went abseiling, kayaking, we went for a walk to Apple Tree Bay and swam at the lagoon at the end of the walk so that was a tiring, fun and exciting trip! At the actual camp they had a water slide which was was so fun even Rick went on it! The meals were good and the playground that they had was used by us half the time playing ''Cheat'' so we amused ourselves really well. It was a good camp.

Bethany Camp 2009

Room 7 went on camp to Bethany camp for three days to go on camp.
We left on the 17th and came back on the 19th of November .
On camp we did Abseiling, Kayaking, Bush walks, Orienteering, Archery and a big walk ( three hours in fact) to Apple Tree Bay.
Camp was really fun.

Bethany Bay Camp 2009

On the 17th of November 2009, Room 7 went on a class camp to Bethany Bay, Kaiteriteri.

I went in my dad's car with Victoria & Brianna.
When we got there we got sorted into cabins.

There were boys cabins down on the field & girls cabins up on a hill.
I was in a cabin with Victoria, Juliette, Maddie, Rochell, Paris & Brianna.
On the first day we went Abseiling, did a mini bushwalk, did Archery, a Confidence Course, Orienteering & a water slide!
I didn't go on the Water Slide but while the rest of the class (but a few) were on it, I played Cricket with the rest of the people.
Then while everyone was setting the tables (and I DIDN'T know about it so DON'T call me lazy) I played Giant Soccer with the boys. Then we had dinner & hung out in the hall & played Foos Ball. The next day we had a HUGE LONG AS bushwalk to Apple Tree Bay!
It took AGES but it was worth it because we played in the water & on the sand & got to go swimming in Apple Tree Bay after the walk.
On the third day, we went to Little Kaiteriteri & did some Kayaking!
I also have a new friend called Bobby & a new nickname, Marshmallow/Marshie(s) =D
At lunchtime, Victoria & I ate like, 3 days worth of Fruit.
We had 3 huge as apples, a mandarin, an orange, a plum & a banana all in 1 hour!
That was a SMALL summary of what we did at our AWESOME AS Camp! =D

Bethany camp 2009

On the17th of november room 7 & I went on a camp called bethany bay, kaiteriteri camp. We stayed for 2 nights 3 days, and in those three days we did abseiling, a huge walk to apple tree, kayaking, water slide and the mini games were oranting finding, confidence course, archery and mini bush walks in groups a & b. I stayed in 2 different cabins the first night I stayed in Rochell's cabin and then the second night I stayed in Mai's cabin! This camp was the best camp i I have ever being too!!! * :) And in both nights my B.F.E.F.E Martina stayed in both the cabins with me!!!

In the holidays I played runescape as usual. and my friend Kenneth came round and played with me

Sri Lanka And Dancing And Music.

In Sri Lanka is a place for dancing and for music. It is not always for dancing and and music, it is also work as well. But don't worry it's a cool place too for dancing. Our class is making masks from
Sri Lanka for the mask parade.

My trip to NIS

Today we went to Nelson Intermediate School for a look around. It was pretty cool.

In class rm7 is doing poetry

In my class we are learning about poetry. Like similes and metaphors. Similes have things like as and like, metaphors don't have like and as they have is and was. We have being doing acrostic poems, cinquains & next week we're doing Limericks (which I have no clue what they are). We have our own poetry groups too. I'm in the group called Wha. The other people in the Wha group are Martina, Kyle M, Maddie, Kyle C, Nic, Keegan.

We did some very fun activities to do with poems like recreating new poems out of the words of a teabag poem which was very funny because it said "I'd like to be a teabag...". It was funny!

Getting ready for the mask parade

In a few weeks Nelson Central School are taking part in the nelson arts festival and room 7 are making sri lank curing masks so if you see someone ill you should dance in front of them and it is supposed to make them better. At the moment i have just finished the first side of my big ears.

Cricket Season

We have our cricket season coming up and our cricket team was second to the top of our grade. Keegan was our best spin bowler but Kyle was the weakest person in our team because he was the newest player to our team.

Holidays coming up

The holidays are coming up and I'm going to BORING YMCA except for the 10plus activites and I'm also having a day off. The 10 plus are also having a mystery day out. We are going to go to teapot valley where there is going to be go-carts and I get to go on them.

Our visit to NIS

I only like the computer room and the kitchen but foosball table but the other thing were no where no where near as good as the computer room the computer room rules and I meet up with some old friends like druss bowyne rijal and sean r and sean d

On Wednesday all the year 6's from around nelson came to
NIS and we had a tour all over the school.
I thought it was really big and it seemed really nice.
Then the principle [ Mr gully ] talked a bit.

In the holidays

In a week and a half it is the holidays and I want to go swimming
and I want to go the beach. I also might go to my friends house. Theres lots of things I can
do lots and lots of things to do
In 2 weeks my friends can also come to my house.
The holidays are going to be so fun but it would be the most funniest holidays if I went camping, how COOL would that be.

Tour around Nelson Intermediate

On a Wednesday morning all the year 6 kids at Nelson Central School went to Nelson Intermediate for a tour around the school.

3 different schools came like Hampden street, Clifton Tce, and Victory School.

We had a kids from the school to take us around.

It was really fun to get to know the school and what they do.

There are some really fun looking activities like wood work, cooking and sewing.

But it is going to be really scary on the first day :]

Trip to NIS

On Wednesday the year six's went to the intermediate to visit and see all the stuff to do like foods wood work and a whole lot more. There is a swimming pool and a gym as well. We get to do those things in the Summer and not in the winter. I can't wait to go there next year.

On the 9th of September 2009 the year 6s went on a visit to Nelson Intermediate.
We left at 9:15am to go on the bus. I was buddies with Paris on the bus. When we got there we went down to the hall & the Kapa Haka group did a little show for us!
They were really good! :)
Then we got split into groups & we got a student tour guide!
We visited the Enrichment class & visited some of our classmates from last year.
Then we went backstage in the hall. It's really cool!
We also checked out the Gym & the Pool!
It's a really cool place & I can't wait to go there next year!

Mask parade masks!

Lately in room 7 we have been making masks for the mask parade which is coming up! Last time we won the supreme mask parade award so lets hope to do it again. Our masks are awesome and the colours are so cool. I'm so excited about the parade and it's great fun making the masks.

Tackle sevens

On Tuesday the 8th of september 2009 we had a tackle sevens rugby tournment. We had two teams in a six schools tournmant including Clifton terrace, Hampden street, Victory, and 2 Nelson Central teams and lucky last Auckland Point school. We ended up coming third and drawing with the winning team which was Hampden Street school.

Poetry

For the rest of the term we are learning about Poetry. Right now we are doing similes and metophors. Rick (our teacher) put some questions up for us and we had to work out if they were simile or a metophors. Also we did our own poems and soaked them in tea to make them look old fashioned and once it had dried we burnt the sides of it to make it look even cooler.

Justin in England & Scotland

Hello class, I went up the York minster tower it was 275 steps up to the top of the Tower it was very anoying because people kept on stopping I think there was a old lady at the front . we also went on some amazing walks on some of the walks we did had Towering limestone Cliffs thousands of feet above .we went to Scotland as well. The moss there was very very soft and we went on a cruise up a Loch the cruise really good caely music .

On Friday it was the science fair and we all had to do a project. I did mine on bubble power and my question was what dish washing liquid makes the biggest bubble. I got a participation certificate and it is at home on the fridge.

Science fair!

We had a realy cool as science fair! I did a project with my friends ben w and lachie m. we did a project called mind find were we tested peoples memory. It was really FUN!

On the 7th of August 2009 totara classes at Nelson Central School took party in a Totara science fair.
Trinity,Ellie and me did an experiment on THE DEAD SEA.
There were Exellance, Merit and particapation we all got a particapation certifacte.

Netball

In the weekend I play net-ball!! The people on my team are Paris, Juliette, Lucy, Brittany, Izzy, Mai, Oonagh, Ruby, and me. This photo shows our team and our coaches Neroli, Anna, Emma and Rebekka. When the photo was taken we were playing St Joesphs and we unfortunitly lost 14/7. I played Wing Defence in the last 2 quaters because in the 1st 2 I went off court to watch the defence circle .

Kenneth and Sam's Science Project

I felt very excited about the science fair because you get to tell people what you've done and say to people I'm not dumb. I liked this one because it showed that these plants could survive with no soil and only beer to feed on.

The science fair was an awesome science fair this year. There were lots of different progects like friction and which wood burns the fastest or which wood floats for the longest - so like I said it was an awesome science fair this year. I liked the wood floating project I thought it was very interesting. I also figured that pine tree was the best wood for floating in water.

In my holiday i went to the movies with my brother to watch harry potter and the half blood prince I really cool. Sometime in the week I also went to watch the Tasman Markos verse otago

My cat Crush

My cat crush had a shower with me because he was being noisy. He walked in to the shower and when I shut the door I did not know he was in the shower to. It was bed time nine thery the same as crush I was cold in bed but then crush came in and he was cold to he jumed up he snifed around and sat arund my neck. I had two bowls
of mackarony cheese crush snuk up and ate one howl bowl of it.

Holidays

I moved house a few days ago and I like my new house but my cat loves the new house. Last night my cat took over my bed so I was hanging off the bed and she keeps going crazy in the new house. We don't know where anything is and it is going to take awhile to know where anything is.

In the holidays I went bowling with Dad, I kept on getting gutter balls because of how I was flicking my wrist. I also had to go to the YMCA holiday programme which was really boring and that was my holiday.

P.S I got a new 32 inch TV.

Quinns holiday

The second week of the holiday we went to Wanaka and went skiing twice at Cadrona, Coronet peak and Treble Cone. Cadrona was the best because there were lots of jumps and stairs that you can go down. Treble Cone was a bit hard so we did not go there again. Coronet Peak was fun there were lots of good tracks. It was a fun holiday.

My Holidays

The first week I went to Greymouth. Then I went to Christchurch where I played laser strike, it was fun and I won. I went to Jelly Park swimming pool. It was exciting. I went to the movies and saw Harry Potter and the half blood prince - it was cool.

''How cool is that!?''. Mum had just told me that we were going to Pohara to see my Auntie and cousins. It's really cool because they live next to a golf course and a beach. We hadn't done anything for the holidays so this was really cool. When we got there we got out of the car with my dog and went into the backyard. It was so cool! While my dog was running around my cousin was getting eye drops for his eye disease. We started playing PS2 and then we had lunch with some brownies. After that we took our dog for a walk. She gunned it along the golf course and beach! When we got back it was time to go and I was really annoyed but it was fun.

I had the most best holiday ever because I saw Ice Age 3 and I saw Transfomers. At the end of the holidays it was my 11 birthday and I got Resistance retribution and I got a bionical ice type. This holiday was the best ever.

My holiday

In the holidays I went skiing it was great fun at first I kept falling over but eventually I got better and after a while I was quite good. The cafe was very nice. We were skiing at mount lyford and we stayed at an alpine resort.

my holidays were awesome. we went to Cardrona for two days and ice scatting 4 times. this holidays were the best of all my holidays. hope i have the same holiday again.

Holidays - Hunting

In the weekend me my Dad and Rodney went goat hunting. We were walking around for five minutes but we did not hear anything. Then suddenly we heard goats and smelt them too. My Dad shot one and grabbed its lamb.

Victoria's huge holiday!

I got butterflies in my stomach trying to wait for the holidays. I had my second cousin stay at my house three times in one week. I also went to the movies to see Transforma's. It was awesome, the ice cream truck is funny it turned into two Transforma's. Then my Dad and I were watching this allusion thing and you have to try and find the odd thing out and my brother went really close and it showed a scary alien and my brother got a huge scare. Brianna and I went to Martina's house.

Holidays!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! again! Finally out of school, for ten weeks I've been waiting for this moment and now it's come! I can't wait to do so much cool stuff! Like maybe going to the beach. We went to Rabbit Island. Two days later.... this is so boring! I want to go back to school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Briannas 2 week holiday!

On Wednsday (the first week of the holidays) I went to Martinas house early to decorate our big awesome tree! When we got back from decorating the tree with posters and paper chains we soon went back inside Martinas house and waited for Victoria.

Yay!! It is nearly the holidays! I said to Molly. Yeah it is going to be so fun! said molly. I can't wait till it is my birthdy! It is going to so fun!Yeah I just can't wait! said Molly. Me too. I said.
So What are you doing for your birthday?Well ,I am going to the wave pool , and it is going to be so fun! my holidays

It was my birthday on the 18 of July I got a t.v. to go into my room and I got a drawing book and some other things as well a lot of other things!!!!!!!! I invited Maddie to come to Lone Star with me. We had a big meal I got a little big steak and ice cream for pudding it was nice. After that we went to drop Maddie off at her house.
The next day me and my mum went to town to get me some stuff for hockey because I got into the rep team for the under 13 b team. I have 1 game in Westport and 4 games in Blenheim and 6 or 7 games in Christchurch, that's a lot of games don't you think? So that was my holidays.

My holidays

In the holidays I went on a campervan trip I had so much fun. It was funny when we went to the southernmost point of NZ, it had a sign that said "South Pole" which was pointing south and on the other side it said "Equator". On that trip Mum and Dad gave me twenty dollars to spend. I bought a box with penguins in it in oil, a clock and a book on how to make cool paper airplanes. I loved my holidays and I hope next holidays will be good too.

In my HOLIDAYS I ...............

1. me and my bff Jay aka Juliette went to the skating rink 2 times. we got lots of lollies from the counter and we had a competition for how many times we fell over (jay fell over 5 times). she stayed at my place and we play lots of games and we played with my little sis and my little kitten.

2. I went to the movies 2 times and I saw Harry Porter (It's really scary boo!)
and Hannah Montana (I'm a really BIG fan!!!!)
3. I went to the mall in Richmond and went shopping and guess what I got a ...........Nintendo DSi ! !

During the holidays I ate chocalate and also played sport with my friend Felix . We played soccer , rugby ,cricket and basketball. We also played Playstation . We played Pes soccer 2008,Cricket 2005,Fifa 2002 and Nba live 2005.

During the holidays me and my family went away to Queenstown for a holiday with some friends of ours from Richmond and thier cousins from Australia and thier cousins friends from Australia we also went to Charleston and Christchurch.

I went to the movies with my mum and some friends and we watched Harry Potter
and it was really scary when the hand went up when Harry Potter was on the rock with dumble
dore, I jumped straight of my seat!!!
Then I went to Paris's house for a sleepover and we stayed up late and

And I went to my grandma's for a night and I was on the computer

hi class this is justin speaking just to let you know i am having a great time in the UK. i am greatly enjoying missing school. here are some of the photos i took with my new camera. We went to an old castle at Bodiam built in 1385

We went to london on the train and i took a movie of the guard at the palace - video attached. marching. holly thought the guard was going to shoot her. We also went on the tube. for those of you that don't know what the tube is it is a type of train that runs underground throughout all of London. when we went to London we saw the Tower Bridge,

Tower of London, Buckingham Palace and Nelson's column in Trafalgar Square, and the national gallery.

made poi's and we made up some dancers and we made paper prints of matariki.

It was really fun well at least better than maths and reading and stuff!!!

Matariki

Matariki: What is it?

Matariki is the Maori new year. It is also called Pleadies or the Seven Sisters.

Matariki starts in June, always. Yesterday, the 24th, all the senior classes went round to each class and did Matariki activities.  There was print making in room 7, dancing in room 1, poi making in room 8 and pictures in room 2.

Yesterday it was matariki. We had a class interchange all day. At room 1 we made up a little dance, at room 2 we did a cool picture, at room 7 we made printing blocks and at room 8 we made poi.

On Matariki we changed different classes through the whole day no maths! The thing I liked was making Poi and stamps.

Buddy Class

ben came 9th and max was sick and did not do well.
